Gifts In a Jar! Sweet Homemade Happiness

Sweet recipes of desserts or hot drinks in varying sizes of jars (depending on the recipe), and with a decorative lid and label to fit the occasion.

I love to celebrate Christ's birth by giving gifts especially at Christmas time!  And our older daughters love to give gifts as well, but we also need to do so frugally.  So one of my favorite things to do is to give an edible treat.  May these 11 sweet treat ideas be my Merry Christmas gift to you this year!  *smile*

To make these gifts look as good as they taste I like to tie the top with a pretty, sheer or wire-edged ribbon, or with raffia.

I put the recipe instructions either on a self-adhesive label attached directly on to the jar, or on a hand-made tag, made with scrapbook paper and attached to the raffia or ribbon.
I Think these drinks and desserts are especially fun for children to help bake, as nearly all the measuring is pre-done for them.  They can "do baking" or make a nice drink for Mom with very little help.  *smile*

Tips:  Use a small spatula to scrape powder down from the sides, then pack down.  Also, a piece of rolled-up paper works nicely if you don't have a funnel.
