Week In Pictures

Recent happenings through the eyes of my phone camera.

My mom and Aunt working on Bradley's stocking!  I can't wait to visit my Aunt's (and cousin's) store when we are in Des Moines!

We just wrapped up our New Mama class.  Such an amazing class for any new moms!  These 6 weeks were SO helpful for me to learn things about Bradley (and myself!), discuss all things baby with other new moms, and even just getting out of the house!  It was a bittersweet last class.

These are Bradley's friends (Bradley is in green stripes).

The mamas and babies!

Never enough tummy time!

Chimi's usual expression when Bradley cries. :)

Target feeding!  Target should just have a big lactation room since it's filled with moms!

Christmas jammies time!!  Hooray!!

Warm and cozy in his bear outfit!

More Christmas jammies!

Love this mini man.

No more Halloween decor on the built ins!  Giving them a few week rest but soon to be covered in Christmas!

Vikings game day!

OBSESSED with Freddy's Steakburgers.  Like want it everyday obsessed.

Bradley enjoyed an exciting morning of voting and Target.

Chimi likes sitting on the pillow when Bradley is eating.

Cute corner of his nursery.  Maybe someday he will sleep in here!  Hopefully not anytime soon!

Sushi and Chimi are almost besties now!!  I have caught them playing together and then this!!

2014 Cupcake Tree has begun!

Chim loves warm clothes out of the dryer!

Yes he does!

Relaxing in his Mamaroo.

I wish I could sit and snuggle forever.

Best socks ever!

Soon to be my new best friend.  Rats.

Snugglers.

Chimi encountered a problem...Sprinkles in the bed she claims!

Problem solved!

Happy Saturday!  Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Week In Pictures

Recent happenings through the eyes of my phone camera.

Finished my first of two patriotic wreaths!

Chim turned 3!

Snow...again.

So I made Joni's yummy chili!

New flat iron is blowing my mind.  Will be great since I am about to chop my hair!

Again, a shameful selfie, but my hair has never been this straight before this flat iron!

Cheering on friends at tryouts!

Somebody got a beard trim!

Brought in donuts for coworkers - I am going to turn into a donut if I keep eating these things!

We hit 70 on Friday!  Chimi stayed in the shade though.

Then we grilled and took out our furniture!

We have already had an awesome start to the weekend!  Had a great meeting with Deborah from The Cozy Cottage to help us blend our ideas for the main floor. Can't wait to get going!

Gifts In a Jar! Sweet Homemade Happiness

Sweet recipes of desserts or hot drinks in varying sizes of jars (depending on the recipe), and with a decorative lid and label to fit the occasion.

I love to celebrate Christ's birth by giving gifts especially at Christmas time!  And our older daughters love to give gifts as well, but we also need to do so frugally.  So one of my favorite things to do is to give an edible treat.  May these 11 sweet treat ideas be my Merry Christmas gift to you this year!  *smile*

To make these gifts look as good as they taste I like to tie the top with a pretty, sheer or wire-edged ribbon, or with raffia.

I put the recipe instructions either on a self-adhesive label attached directly on to the jar, or on a hand-made tag, made with scrapbook paper and attached to the raffia or ribbon.
I Think these drinks and desserts are especially fun for children to help bake, as nearly all the measuring is pre-done for them.  They can "do baking" or make a nice drink for Mom with very little help.  *smile*

Tips:  Use a small spatula to scrape powder down from the sides, then pack down.  Also, a piece of rolled-up paper works nicely if you don't have a funnel.

Idea List:
  • Cocoa Mix
  • Spiced Tea Mix
  • Cafe Au Lait
  • Cafe Vienna
  • Raspberry Cocoa Mix
  • Russian Tea
  • Chocolate Chip Cookies Mix
  • M&M Cookie Mix
  • Oatmeal Raisin Spice Cookie Mix
  • Spicy Oatmeal Cookie Mix
