New Beauty Finds

Ever since I was in junior high, I have been obsessed with finding new beauty gems!  I'm sure it comes from growing up as a dancer/performer and finding out how makeup accentuates and helps you work with what your mama gave you! 

I was feeling in a makeup rut last week and knew I needed to spice things up.  Most of my makeup is getting to the point of either expiration or empty, so it was time!  I spent a good afternoon watching my beloved MMandLShow videos and kept a list of fun things I wanted to try!


First up - I am ALWAYS looking for amazing new mascaras.  I do think my all time favorite is L'Oreal Voluminous, but still always on the hunt for something new.  MMandL always talk about how much they love Mary Kay Lash Love so I needed to try.  Initial verdict - I like how it defines and separates, but I need more of a plumping effect as well.  It works well when used with my Voluminous but by itself my wretch lashes need more. 


Next up - bronzer!  I have been wanting to try the Cargo Matte Medium Bronzer for a while now and I hit pan on one of my bronzers, so now was the time!  So far I really like it!  Again, I still have another favorite (Bobbi Brown Medium Bronzer) but this is a good second place.  I also love the cute packaging!  Sucker for cuteness!

I am still undecided on the Nyx Bronze Shimmer pencil.  The color is amazing, but I struggle with using pencils around my eyes if they tug, and this slightly tugged.  I do think if I heated it with a hairdryer for a few seconds it would help, but haven't played enough with it yet. Verdict: TBD.

I am super excited about this find - the Nyx Wonder Pencil.  It is super creamy and amazing to have a concealer with a fine tip!  Perfect for super detailed concealing and also would be great for brightening around eyes or under brows.  I can't wait to find even more uses for this guy!

Another beloved makeup item that I use - the Anastasia Eyebrow Pencil!  My current pencil is getting low, and I wanted free shipping from Ulta so I went ahead and got this one.  I currently have Brunette/Dark Brown and I love it.  It might be ever so slightly too dark (but I have never been afraid of dark brows!) so I wanted to try the Medium version.  It really seems like the same color, just a hair (pun intended) lighter so it is perfect!  If you are on a hunt for a brow pencil - get this now!

I definitely am loving the Nyx High Def Photo Concealer.  It is super juicy and the brush is almost like a lip gloss, but with paint!  It seems to last all day and really does actually conceal (which is a good thing for a concealer to do, haha).  Would definitely get this again, especially for the price!!

Last but not least, the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo!  I struggle with wearing something on my lips other than Rosebud Salve or some other type of chapstick so I am always on the hunt for something NOT sticky and easy to wear.  I did love this color and I love that it is matte (need some sort of gloss on top of it) but because it is matte it highlighted every little crack in my lips.  So if I can get my lip crackage under control I will love this!!
