St Pattys Day A Winner

Being Irish, I love St. Patty's Day.
Kevin also has Irish heritage, so our kids are about 25% Irish.
It's a fun & easy holiday to celebrate.
I just do a few simple things to make it more fun for my kids.
They get Lucky Charms cereal for breakfast (which is a big treat since we don't buy them sugar cereal)
Kate had to make a Leprechaun trap for Kindergarten, so we left it out in hopes of catching him.
(Her trap was an empty oatmeal box with green construction paper & washi tape)
She wanted it to look like a Leprechaun hat, so she taped a base. She added a rainbow & a sign to lure him in. We cut a little hole in the lid & the inside was filled with glitter & 2 gold coins.
I thought it turned out cute!
The Leprechaun not only left the Lucky Charms, but he turned the milk green, left a map and a trail of gold.

Plus, it's fun to see the girls so excited about Lucky Charms, green milk & a treasure map.
Ready to find their pot of gold.
Nothing will beat what the Leprechaun brought them last year...their Big Sister T-shirts letting them know a baby was on the way!
Read about it HERE.

They were so excited when they found their treasure.

Nothing fancy, just a Pez dispenser & some bubbles. Each item was just $1.
Like last year, the Leprechaun didn't flush when he used the bathroom.
And, Boulder's dog water was turned green.
The Leprechaun left out forks instead of spoons (All the spoons were in the dirty in the dishwasher & I was too lazy to hand wash them)

Some may think this is over the top for a silly holiday like St. Patty's Day, but it took less than 10 minutes to set up the night before. My thought is that they are only young once and why not do silly fun things on holidays while they are still young?

Then we headed to church & I debuted my awesome green jeans I got on clearance.
I was so excited to wear them (the rest of the outfit will be posted on my Pin-Spired post in 2 weeks)
Highlight of my day?
An 80 year old woman at church telling me she liked my Leprechaun pants.
Classic.

We had a nice family bike ride to Kate's TBall practice.
We normally have Guinness Stew for dinner on St. Patty's Day, but since the weather was so nice, our neighbors decided to have a last minute St. Patty's Day BBQ Block Party. Guiness Stew is for dinner tonight!

Kate's St. Patty's request? Green Jello.
