Blending Families Love is Key Happy Families
I have had a few counseling appointment requests lately about blended families. It can be a challenge to merge different families together, but I appreciate the simple message of this video.
"Love is the key."

PODCAST Large Families Living in Small Houses with Tom Keri Lamar of A Happy Home Media

Bob and I were honored recently to be invited by Tom & Keri Lamar (homeschooling parents of 8), of A Happy Home Media, to do an interview together with them via podcast about how our family of 11 lives in an 1,100 square foot house. *smile* We had such a fun time as we laughed together, related together, shared great information and just generally brought mutual encouragement and vision. I hope you enjoy listening to the Lamars with Bob and I together as we talk about strategies for fitting into a smaller home, principles for getting it done beautifully, and what the value is in doing so. *smile*

Happy 2nd Anniversary to Us!
Tomorrow is our two year anniversary! Nate and I got married on May 7, 2011 and it is definitely one of the most memorable days of my life! I know I am SO blessed that Nate chose me to be his wife and I am so thankful for our life together!
Since I wasn't a blogger back then, here are some pics taken by Emma Freeman Photography so you can check out our day! See our wedding videos here.
You can also see the well documented wedding process on IGE! See how I asked my maids here, one of my showers here, Bachelorette party here, and wedding here! Kristin, am I missing any? :)

Happy Memorial Day!
What do you do to celebrate Memorial Day?
I believe that we owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women serving our country, regardless of whether or not you agree with the politics that put them there. Today, The Two-Penny Soapbox is taking a moment to acknowledge the sacrifices of our soldiers and their families.
In tribute, The Husband and I have the tradition of running the annual Bolder Boulder 10K Road Race. It has been a family tradition since before we were even a family. We ran our first race together back in 2003, not long after we had gotten engaged. I had never run in honor of someone specific until I had the pleasure of getting in contact with my birth father in late 2012. That following 2013 Memorial Day, I ran in honor of him; Ron Walker, 82nd Airborne Division, combat veteran. I have run with his name every year since.
Last year was my oldest daughter's first Bolder Boulder. We weren't sure how she would do, but that girl trucked all 6.2 miles like a rock star! She has been counting down the minutes (no seriously, she is actually doing the math) every day for the last week.
Happy Memorial Day!!!
